Alternative Energy Fund
Overview
The Fund invests in companies which are involved in;
- the manufacture and development of energy generation from non fossil fuel sources; and
- the improvement of energy use efficiency
The Fund normally invests in companies with at least 50% of their business in these areas with market capitalisations of over $100 million. These defined stockpicking criteria make the fund a pure play in the alternative energy sector.
The Fund is managed by Tim Guinness, Edward Guinness and Matthew Page. Tim has over 26 years of fund management experience, including 9 years managing one of the world's top offshore energy funds, the Investec Global Strategy Fund - Global Energy Fund. The team has been managing the first US no load alternative energy fund (Guinness Atkinson Alternative Energy Fund) since March 31 2006 and the Guinness Alternative Energy Fund will normally have the same portfolio of stocks.
