Guinness managers in “Faces to Watch”
Guinness global equity portfolio managers Matthew Page & Ian Mortimer selected in Investment Week’s Faces to Watch: Top managers under 35
As they approach their five year anniversary on the Guinness Global Equity Income Fund, we’re delighted to bring to your attention Matthew and Ian’s inclusion in Investment Week’s Faces to Watch: Top managers under 35.
The magazine has highlighted 33 individuals “who have shown they have what it takes to succeed in the competitive world of investment management, as selected by a panel of fund experts. All the managers are aged 35 or under and are a named manager on open- or closed-ended funds across various sectors. Many have already made a name for themselves, by working with some of the biggest figures in fund management, including industry stalwarts such as Tim Guinness.”
“Ian Mortimer and Matthew Page co-manage two of Guinness Asset Management’s key funds: the £106m Guinness Global Equity Income Fund and £150m Guinness Global Innovators Fund.
The group’s income fund, which was unveiled for the duo in 2010, has returned some 48% since launch. Meanwhile the pair also took over running Tim Guinness’ popular US mutual Innovators fund in 2010. It was launched for UK investors in October 2014 and has returned 4% to date.
Prior to joining Guinness in 2006, Mortimer completed his doctorate in experimental physics at Christ Church College Oxford, while fellow Oxford graduate Page joined in 2005, following a period at the FX and bond teams at Goldman Sachs.”
